Patios

We build patios of all sizes and shapes. All of our new paver installations are built using a "Dry-Lay" method. There is no expensive concrete to pour for base. We prefer using the "Dry-Lay" with gravel screens method, as it resists insect related issues of a sand-screed dry lay and freeze-thaw related water issues with concrete.

How we build decorative patios: 

After measuring, digging, and leveling the installation area, we: 

1. Lay a *full 6" of compactable gravel, followed by;

2. *1.5" of limestone screens.

3. Pavers are then laid, and secured using edging material and finally;

4. *Polymeric Sand is poured between paver gaps.

*For utilitarian or economy patios, we use:

• 2"-3" compactable gravel

• 1" silica sand

• silica sand as paver gap filler

We can repair old, as well as install new: retaining walls, seat walls, ornamental walls.

We are able to use your desired stone of choice- 

• Retaining Wall Block

• Natural Stone (gravity laid or mortar)

• Belgian Block (with Loctite 500)

All of our walls are properly installed using appropriate drainage rock and drain tile when necessary.

*Walls over a certain height (36"-48" depending on local ordinance) MUST first receive approval from both an architect and local government before work is done. We can help you find a licensed architect and get county approval.

If you have a patio or wall that has weathered over time, we can clean things up for you. We can:

• Re-lay existing patio

• Replace aged Polymeric Sand

• Repair sagging or uneven pavers or stone (not concrete leveling)

Costs depend on extent of repair and materials needed.

Plants + Beds

We offer perennial plant, ornamental shrub and tree plantings

We will also transplant your existing plants to new areas

We can create new garden bed areas, as well as reshape/ rehabilitate overgrown garden beds by:

• Bringing in new soil or utilizing existing soil on your property

• Pulling overgrown or weedy areas in beds

• Edging the garden beds with spades to make a crisp edge separating lawn areas

• Laying fresh bulk mulch or bagged mulch at your request

We prune existing shrubs and ornamental trees, less than 15 feet in height*

We offer discounted garden bed installations, when building a new patio.

• Doing so is mutually beneficial

• New garden beds help accent your new patio

• We are able to repurpose dirt dug from new patio area

• Cuts labor and removal cost of excess fill dirt 

*We are not an arborist or tree cutting specialist company

If your yard is looking a bit "shaggy" and in need of being spruced up, we can get your garden beds looking tip-top. We will:

• Prune/shape shrubs (arborvitae, boxwood, taxus, etc.)

• Trim small ornamental trees / low-hanging tree branches

• Hand-Edge garden bed lines

• Hand-Remove undesirable plant growth (i.e. pull weeds, vine/groundcover removal, shrub removal)

• Mulch beds (see below)

We can lay fresh mulch in your garden beds. We will lay either bulk mulch or bagged mulch at your request. We prefer to use bulk mulch, as it is often more fresh and results in a cleaner look.

Mulch is priced by-the-yard installed. Prices depend on variety of mulch and your desired depth of mulch layer.

We can help you maintain woody shrubs and small trees. We will:

• Shape + Prune shrubs

• Prune smaller trees

• Remove dead or dying shrubs

• Remove dead or dying trees*
